AI frequently fails to go for swamps.Īttack tactics. Computer countries develop and grow in random directions, so sometimes it stops growing because of lack of water.Īsian players need to find swamps to grow rice to make sake to enhance military. In most races it's crucial to find water. It seems that computer plays without good planning. It would be cool to play a nice single player game with decent AI players. Usually the computer alliance swallows the 1-2 other computer players thus forming a huge formidable opponent.Īnyway. Now to have some fun in single player mode I start a huge random map with 7-9 oponents 5-6 of whom are in a team together. It is a little better in the "Gold" version (with Amazons etc), but still quite lacking. Unfortunately, the computer player AI is far from perfect. I keep coming back to it and believe it strikes a perfect balance between economy and military. It seems that The Settlers III is my favorite game.
